    WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!

A quick unboxing video (Clearly no future as a cinematographer).
    No playing,
as it would only distract from the moment (my playing can be painful to listen to).

Quick first impressions are, this is the guitar I have been looking for. It's that nice.
Looks great (my eyes) Feels great (my hands) Sounds great (my ears).
Got a scratch and dent for a nice discount.
The only obvious defect, a small piece of wood missing on the point of the F hole. (Who cares?, Not me)

The biggest surprise thus far is both the imitation full range humbuckers (sound great) and the color of the guitar is much nicer than many of the online pictures which seem to show a much more faded and washed out color.
Mine has a nice warm honey hue.

We shall see if the love affair lasts,
    sometimes they do not
but I think this guitar will remain with me "till death do us part" :)

Cool. What's the neck feel like? Typical "modern C" or thinner like the MIC Squiers tend to be?

What do I know? (Not much) But I would venture a guess of a comfortable C shape. I have rather small hands so it feels just right. As with all things, your mileage may vary.

Oh, ever since they came out with this basic model...and it's been out a VERY long time...it was always the one I was most attracted to hanging in the store.

I didn't look at your video, but the photo looks like gold bridge and pups. The one I oggled was always silver/chrome.

Edit: yours is chrome. Just watched the video.

congratulations... this one easily fits my top 3 telecasters. I don't love it, I adore the sound and playability of it. Hope you do as well... ;)

I just reaquired the one in my avatar....such a great guitar. Totally agree on the stock humbuckers.

The last reply made me re-read this thread... and then this MIC-question.

There only ever was one Chinese Vintage Modified telecaster model, and that was the '69 Thinline. There were two Indian models (the SH and SSH), and all the rest were Indonesian. So this '72 model is Indonesian. ;)

At some point I will buy myself a pair of digital callipers and keep track of neck sizes. Everybody seems to feel these differences, and I just don't. Every guitar takes a few minutes of getting used to, and that's about it for me. Only narrow string spacings really annoy me. :(

Congrats! You have a nice & curious cat checking with you that everything is right with guitar package. Is that feline a male? I guess he is.

Lady kitty... Meow. She loves the smell of boxes that come from mysterious places far away. :)

    Very nice!

The Indonesian ‘72’s I’ve tried, all had a slightly wider and chunkier feeling neck, compared to the CV ‘69’s. A bit of a soft V shape.

I ended up going with a good deal on a ‘69, tub it was a close call for me when I was shopping. The ‘72’s still sound like a Telecaster to me, but have a nice added warmth. Plus, I prefer the neck.

    Enjoy!
