I ordered a custom OM-28 last May that showed up yesterday! I'm thrilled! I wanted to blend vintage & modern designs and keep it plane Jane in appearance. The top is Adirondack spruce, and has Martin's "VTS" (vintage tone system, they bake the top to age it). The back & sides are Madagascar Rosewood, and the neck has the newish MLO high performance taper 1 3/4 nut 2 5/32 @ bridge. Martin used hide glue to construct.

I've played her about 5 hours, and I am 100% a believer in the VTS thing. I have owned and played a madi/adi dread, and I'm very happy with the deep rumble and glassy sustain it gives the OMC. There's a decent chance this is my last guitar. She pops like thunder and shakes my body when I drive her with a pick, and she has a very sweet sustain that lasts forever when I gently use my fingers.

Thank you Martin, you guys kick ass!

Also, a very big thank you to Mark at Reno's music www.guitarhotline.com Mark is easy to deal with, and should be on everyone's short list when you go shopping for a guitar (I'm not affiliated, but I have bought & sold a few guitars thru Mark).

wow, and double wow! Congrats on the wonderfulness!

In a superficial way, I don't like the looks of a dreadnought with a cutaway, but on the OM style it looks fine.

    Well done.

Thanks for the kind words. I agree, a cutaway on a dread doesn't compute with me either. My dread might not see much action due to this beast.

There's a decent chance this is my last guitar. Ha ha ha ha ha oh catch my breath LOL LOL LOL. I have heard this before. I have also said it before. When I had five guitars I said no more and now I have seven.

By the way beautiful guitar. My last one was a Martin 0000-18 Sinker Mahogany. I don't have any pictures at work. I am home now and those two pictures are my Sinker Mahogany.
