    Hey all,

Been talking about it for weeks now on here. Finally finished it and just rocked it for two hours. Amazingly/surprisingly it plays incredibly. Couldn't be happier.

    Here are the specs:

    Thinline knotty pine body
Tonerider Hot Classic neck and bridge pickups.
    Wilkinson Compensated 3-saddle bridge
Tuners off a '99 MIM Strat
Canadian maple neck, Chunky C shape, abalone inlays, medium jumbo frets
    Bone nut
    CTS pots
    CRL 3-position switch
Rest of the misc. hardware is all Fender.
Finish is Miniwax Polyurethane over Bulls Eye Shellac/sealer.

To keep it simple, I went with standard 3-position wiring. Although I've only played with them for a couple of hours, the Toneriders are very much rock and roll pickups, which is what I was looking for. Something between my MIA Standard and my Cabronita. Sound good clean, but they really shine when I crank up the distortion and dig in. Not sure about the weight, but the body was 3.9 lbs when I started, so it's fairly lightweight.

Was looking for the down and dirty Southwestern look. Hope I got that.

I'm very much digging that guitar. Well done.
Is that an amber under the clear? Crazy neat finish.

No amber. It's just clear poly over shellac, both of which give it a slight tint. Also, my flash on my camera seems to have darkened it a bit. In real life it's a bit lighter.

Awesome job! I'm starting my first partscaster next week with a friend. Going to do all I can to make mine turns out as nice as yours. Congrats and enjoy!

    Nice job!

That guitar shares a lot of the same DNA as my Avatar guitar: knotty pine, Canadian Maple neck, jumbo frets, Wilkinson bridge, Tonerider, etc... Mine's got a rosewood board and modern C profile but it's pretty similar and is currently the best sounding single coil guitar I have.

I also wanted a rock-n-roll guitar and spent about a year messing with different pickup and wiring schemes. Eventually I came back to Tonerider (Vintage Plus) in the bridge, Twisted Tele in the neck, 4-way switch with a TBX tone control. It's about perfect now. I almost put the matching Tonerider in the neck but I do like the Twisted Tele and it balances nicely with the Tonerider.

NICE! Growing up in Eastern North Carolina; I've got a special place in my heart for pine wood. Pine trees were about the only trees around. Now I live close to Charlotte and people actually pay for pine needles. :)

Yeah, I've been loving the raw pine look on a Tele for a while. Finally did it.
