Love the double bound Teles, especially in solid colors. I tried to buy one of those with a Bigsby on it, but the guy wouldn't part with it.
Love the Esquire idea. The OV bridge pickup is a good choice for that too, I think you should go for it.

Pretty clearly a refin - looks like the binding has been scraped, and they don't write "CAR" in Sharpie marker at the Fender Japan factory!
That's exactly the neck I want for my next Tele which will be artic white to match my Strat....maple back / rosewood board.
Love it, have the exact same guitar in the same finish. Mine's a '96. I know that because it has the Fender anniversary sticker on the back of the headstock. I didn't want to take the neck off because I love the setup and didn't want to mess with it. Body wood could possibly be Sen, which from my understanding is a Japanese ash.
