I had my eye on this one for a while and played it many times at GC in the last few weeks. I traded in a LP studio that I could not sell for the life of me in on it. I also took the deposit back I had on a 72' deluxe sparkle job and went with this. Too good of a guitar to not snag it.

If you get along with the neck, it's a guitar you'll never regret. Mine has no mods other than a set of dome knobs on it. It does everything I want it to do.

    Congratulations, HNGD!

I feel some GAS coming on. My Tele needs another Tele to hang out with, too.

They really are excellent guitars and one of Fenders best values. I probably spend 80% of the time on the neck pickup, it is just so good.

I did mod mine as I am never fully happy with anything factory. Replaced the control assembly due to a flaw with the S1 button, added an electro-socket as I hate vintage input jacks, brass comp saddles, and upgraded the guard to a thicker one to prevent any gaps, but that was all. Believe me, I normally change a lot of stuff, but no on the Baja. Had the S1 worked properly I would have left it alone.

“His” and “brother”. Interesting, guitars are usually referred to as feminine. No right or wrong, of course, just an observation :)

Congrats!!! You have two beauties!! Or..handsomes ;)

All my guitars except for one have Male names with exception of one named for a girlfriend who taught me some things when I was young :D.

First the purple one....now the Baja.....you're beginning to touch off my guitar jealousy meter.

    Nice pair.

I love the Baja. How do you like the pig nose? I keep thinking I need to add one to my collection for no real reason other than just because.

Congrats on your new guitar! I'm sure you're excited. I'd take that over a Les Paul as well!

Great guitar... and as archetype already mentioned, if you get along with the neck... you will totally love it!

What's the purple guitar that you've got there?

I’m contemplating a Baja myself - just have to convince myself I really need it and get rid of one guitar so i have room...

Thank you , the purple one is a 50's road worn that I went gaga for a couple weeks ago after not having a Tele for 3 years. I feel complete again :D.

I love the Pignose, it is great for practice and can be battery powered or with an AC adapter. It is so basic and simple with gnarly distorted tones, I think everyone should have one. ;)

I go through guitars too fast to name them. I've had 3 come to me already named. My Lucille, an Epi Sheraton with a strap that had Blind Dog Calhoun in Pen & a 69 reissue Thinline Tele someone scratched Trish into the back of the Headstock.

Just cause I rescued the dog doesn't mean I should rename him. Especially if he's blind. He'll never know who I'm talking to.

Sorry about that :D others NGD threads are never very good for my GAS either, my only weakness left is a sparkly one but I love these two guitars so much I think I can hold off for a while ;).
