Ebay. A seller called Sounds Cheap had the best price if you can believe that!

That sounds really good. How does it play? Neck pretty decent? I ordered one last week. Should be here today or tomorrow. Your video has me hoping it's today.

Something about it feels cheap but let me say it is fun to play and I like mine quite a lot.
The feel of the neck reminds me of an acoustic which I find comforting.
I had to notch the saddle for the 1st E and I have since rplaced the nut and all the guts.

Nice playing. Thanks for uploading a vid.

I pawed at one in a local shop & have been on the hunt for one reasonably cheap. Not much luck on the 2nd hand front, so that might be a good thing? They're pretty light, but do feel good. Contoured at the neck heel, chunkier feeling neck if I recall. Feels very much like my Yamaha acoustic.

I too saw one on the bay, body & neck only... no guts, & wanted to take a chance, but it got too spendy. In the meantime, I'll still look.

Mine came yesterday. It's surprisingly nice. The Badwaters I've held in guitar stores seemed nice, but they'd been set up. I figured this one would be rough as hell, but it was really set up pretty well out of the box. The action was a little low, but the neck was straight, there was no fret buzz, and it didn't seem to fret out anywhere on the neck. I like the shape and feel of the neck a lot (but I like fat necks). It sounded really good through both the cleand and dirty channel of my Marshall. I may install a Lollar, but for now I'm perfectly happy with the stock P90.

Yeah, the stock pickup isn't bad.

Jammed with a buddy last night and we both really liked the Badwater a lot. Needs new strings, the intonation needs a bit of work, and a few other things need to be tweaked, but the neck is good, the fretwork is better than on my MIM '72 Custom by a good long shot, and the pickup has some serious testosterone. All in all, a pretty amazing guitar for $182 delivered.

I like this thing more and more every day.
That might have something to do with the upgrades.
    Fralin P-90
    Tone Pros bridge
    Tone Pros tuners
    Tusk nut
All new pots, jack, wires, ect.
I basically turned it into Axl's USA version for $82.13 less than it would have cost me to just buy it.
    The total was $467.87

I'm planning to do most of that to mine, too, but as is it's pretty good. Nice neck and good fretwork. The stock pickup sounds a little crappy playing directly into my Zoom 8-track recorder, but sounds good through my Marshall. My first upgrade will be a Lollar P90 and better pots and wiring (and better knobs--skinny little stock buggers hard to get a grip on with a pinky while playing).

Been playing mine a lot and for the money an amazing guitar. In many ways you can tell it's an inexpensive guitar, but the stock fretwork and nut are noticeably better than the stock frets and nut on my $799 MIM CS '72 Custom. I spent just about as much upgrading the frets and nut on that Fender Tele as I paid for the AXL.

Was planning to take my MIM CS '72 Custom out of town for a few days but the selector switch broke last night, so I thought I'd take my Tokai Love Rock instead. Great guitar, with good SD pickups (JB and a Jazz), but the thing weighs somewhere between 10.2 and 78.3 pounds (probably closer to 10.2, but the way my neck feels after a long night of playing I sometimes wonder). This morning before I packed up my guitar, I was going to play it a bit, but picked up and played the AXL Badwater for a half hour instead. I enjoy playing that guitar so much I lost track of time and was almost late for work. As I was putting the guitar away, I realized I would miss having it more than the Tokai or Tele, so decided to bring that instead. I might be jamming with some guys who will look askew at me for bringing a cheap Chinese guitar, but it's the one I most want to play (at least right at this moment in time). I'm thinking that after they hear it, they might not look at it with quite as much derision.

I hate to sound negative, but I think the guitar sounds too clean, too plinky and spanky. It didn't sound like a P90 at all to me. You need to fatten up the tone a bit and add a little overdrive. Just my two cents.

After playing mine for five months, my only real complaint is that the nut spacing isn't real precise. The low E string is too far in from the edge of the fretboard, making it hard to use my thumb for fretting or muting. It seems like the nut is cut for another sized fretboard.
