Just got this and couldn't be more thrilled. Put some Curt Mangan 10-48 Pure Nickel strings on it, and it sounds and plays great. I was concerned that the 3-barrel bridge may bother me intonation wise, but at least with this set of strings, the string pairs are very close to each other. I haven't weighed it, but it feels like it's about 7.5 pounds. IMG_1131.jpg IMG_1132.jpg

I have the same but decided recently to put a modern 6 saddle bridge because I could not get the intonation completely right after the 12th fret, even with compensated saddles. It's a great guitar!

Awesome guitar - enjoy! I had one for a brief period and liked it, but I'm ultimately more of a Strat guy and ended up with a Strat. But I'll probably add a tele someday and if I do, it'll almost definitely be a Baja...

Looks great, still consider my Baja as a dead heat tie for my favorite these days.

Congrats, I like mine too, although I cheated and put a Gotoh 6 saddle bridge on mine.

    Cool!

But is the neck really this pale, or have you got an overexposure there?

I just caught that 7.5 pound estimate. I don't get caught up with weight - I prefer how a guitar feels.

Mine is within a tenth of 7 even - maybe 7.1 pounds. It's really light for a Baja. The Baja I wanted to get was a blonde boat anchor - but someone beat me to the punch, so I got the lightweight burst. I'm still really happy with it, even after 2.5 years.

Congrats! That's a beauty of guitar, it sure deserves to be constantly played.

My FSR also has 3 brass saddles, and intonation is not an issue.

    Enjoy!

Congratulations, the fifties Baja are great guitars, I have two a blonde and a desert sand, my favorite guitars ever. Wish you years of enjoyment with yours. Mine a stock except for Dunlop straplocks.
It might take a little effort but they will intonate fine if you don't give up. The necks are wonderful and the pickups sound just fine to me, the bridge is great for tele twang and the neck is great for everything. I hardly use the fourth position or the s1 but they provide useful sounds if you like em. I spend most of my time on the neck pickup but the others get used too
