I'll post my first impressions soon but first here are some pics of the left handed 1960 Fender Esquire I just acquired from the original owner family. As it is the case with all 1960 tele/esquire, the blonde finish is less translucent than it is on other tele/esquires from the same era. This one is exceptionally light. 6 lbs 6 oz of magic !

Some of you might have noticed that it's missing a dot on the 9th fret. I'll fix this but for now i'll call this guitar cyclope

Beautiful! You are building a very nice collection of Esquires! Too bad they accidentally flipped the templates over...... ;)

You are right that the color is less translucent. I have been noticing it now. Looks very much like the color of mine! Congratulations!

From a fellow lefty, who knows we don't get 1/10 the NGD as everyone else.

Sorry to say that but that's the kind of question I hate. It doesn't matter how much I spent for it. What matters is that I will play it and enjoy it :)

Sure thing. Hate seems like an awfully strong word, but no problem. And no, it doesn't matter what you paid for it, I don't think anyone would judge that, it's just knowing what you paid frames the market a little for the rest of us who perhaps aspire to owning something similar.

    Cheerio.

English isn't my first language so pardon me if I didn't use an appropriate verb.

As for prices, the price guide is the vintage collector best friend

After two weeks of ownership, here are my impressions.

It's a lively guitar. It's incredibly vibrant. Every chord makes it ring. It's not as twangy as my 63 and 66. That probably comes from the slab board neck. It makes the guitar sound warmer.

It feels like this Esquire was meant to play some Rolling Stones tunes. As a matter of fact, it's currently tuned in open G. I may record a video later. I'll post it here.
