This guitar is my dream guitar. Everything is so right about it.
I know right?!?! That thing is hot!
Ash body w a r.w. board...not as common, but I've played a couple and noticed similar results...
Very, very nice score !
It's incredible, absolutely stunning. Nice find and congratulations to you.
Wow. thats absolutely beautiful
Stunning..possibly the best I've seen here..or anywhere..
I'd take that over a maple board blackguard any day. Beautiful.
They look so much better when they're worn. Amazing, thanks for sharing.
Thanks everyone! Yes, I'm still very happy with it and have to pinch myself every now and then to make sure this isn't a dream.
The look, the feel and of course the sound all are amazing. I always thought a well worn Tele was the most beautiful thing in the world and now I own one. Life is good!
It's your guitar. But are you considering a refret because the current frets are worn out and can't be dressed/leveled?
Or are they good, but you don't like vintage frets?
I ask because I kept telling myself I didn't like and couldn't use vintage frets - and now they are my absolute favorite!
Actually a bit of both.
-The frets on the treble side of the neck are pretty low and I have trouble bending them. So I will refret it because I feel I can't do everything that I really want. Although if I really dig in it does work...
-I also really favor larger and higher frets. I like the feel more. But you are right: I have been getting used to it this way and am in less of a hurry to refret it. So yes, I am getting used to it.
But I still like the ring and feel of larger frets more.
Does anybody know if these frets could be original? I can't imagine it but I would like to know for sure.
I know Fender pushed the frets in from the bass side. But I can't imagine that they would take the time to sharpen the tangs to let them slide in better. Or did they? I have never seen this.
I can imagine that someone along the way gave it a refret and sharpened the tangs. Does anyone know for sure?
The first picture is the bass side and the second one is the treble side:
I hate to be the one to tell you this but that guitar is so wrong for you. I'll do you a favor and take it off your hands. Just trying to help a fellow member out.
Ha ha, thanks! You're too kind.....
This guitar is everything a Tele should be..wow!
It's a beauty! Bet it sounds fantastic! Enjoy, and make Music!
Yup, About as beautiful as they come. Congrats
