Stringing it up top-loaded is definitely one of my plans. It would be great to hear what the difference is exactly. After the refret I'll give that a try.

I'll post the measurements here soon. It's not easy to measure with the strings on. I'll let you know!

Hi Henry, yes there definitely was some anxiety. It's a lot of money and there are so many fakes out there... But I am very glad too that all is fine! Thanks!

    Cool, thanks!
I'd be interested in your opinion on how this one feels and sounds in comparison to your other teles?
Btw, are you going to keep your current avatar for sentimental reasons? ;)

Ha ha, hadn't thought about that.... Well, lets just say that it is for sentimental reasons, for now. it's still a great guitar and beautiful....

The trouble is that all three my Teles are very different. And to me the state of the frets always make a huge difference in sound and feel. I feel guitars resonate more freely with larger frets. But that's perhaps just the way I play. Other people sound fine with smaller frets.... So IMO I would have to compare again after a refret.
The 67 is Alder and this one is Ash. They both resonate about the same and that is very much! But the 67 is a little brighter sounding. To me the tone is less deep, less warm, a bit more shallow. Although this 60 also has a lot of brightness.
My 71 is very different. It has a maple neck. But I also put a heavier bridge on it influenced by Keith Richard in the 80s.... And it has different pick ups. So it really sounds very different. A bit fuller and warmer.
