Hey everyone, as the title suggests, I’m new here. New because I just got my first Tele after 40 years of playing. Not sure why it took so long. I remember reading Tom Wheeler’s “The Guitar Book” in 1980 and saw a picture of a Tele for the first time. Later that year in 6th grade, we took a field trip to the Museum of Science and Industry (I believe) and as soon as we walked in, there was an original 50’s Tele in BSB in a glass case. I freaked out that I was seeing it in person.

So I got a new American Original 50’s in BSB from Sweetwater. I wanted to go with what I would’ve gotten had I been around in 1952. I thought I might need to upgrade the saddles or possibly the pickups at some time. But so far none of that has been a thought. I did notice how every single screw on here is a flathead, lol. I guess that’s what did back then? I can’t say how happy this guitar has made me. It’s all I’ve been playing since I got it a little over a month ago. And I’m a child of 80’s shred, lol. I play full-time and I’ve used it on every gig since it arrived. It really is way more versatile than I expected, but you guys probably know that already! Anyway, glad to finally be able to participate!
