Hi, new to the forum. I like gear and stuff.
Welcome. Dig your guitars. Solid start
Welcome to TDPRI
I have a friend in Florida - do you know him?
Welcome. Nice gear!
WELCOME.....NICE Trainwreck. I was on Ken Fischer's list to get one back in the early nineties.....would have been somewhere around $1700-1800 then. When my name came up, I just couldn't afford it. Life-long regret, although I can't complain about the amps I HAVE had......
P.S....what's its name?
Truth be told (putting on flamesuit) it's a replica. I never advertise it as anything but a copy, I just hate the way they look without the logo. Tonally, I have no idea if it measures up to one of Ken's but regardless I'm over the moon happy with how it sounds. It's a Rocket circuit, built from scratch, Pacific trannies, the same Russian NOS tubes that Z puts in his Z-Wrecks, etc.
I'm just a broke redneck that can't afford the real wrecks, Dumbles, etc...gotta settle the best I know how. I've had a bajillion old Fenders, Marshalls, a few boutiques, etc. The only two amps I've ever plugged into and was immediately blown away are the two pictured above.
At times I wish I had been lucky enough to have been around when Dumbles, Trainwrecks, and vintage gems were more accessible...that said I feel that some of the most killer guitars and amps are being built today. From all accounts Ken Fischer was a class act and sweet guy, such a shame he passed away so young.
Good on you for "fessing up". Now the question is...where'd ya' get it? I agree that today is probably the real "golden age" for amps.....so many GREAT builders working out there.
It was built by my father, he can build all kinds of things but really loves the Trainwrecks and Tweeds...there is a great tone to simplicity ratio with those circuits.
Welcome to the forum !!
Welcome to the community. Enjoy your stay.
Hi and welcome. What part of FL are you in?
Welcome aboard from another Floridian.
I'm another poor old Redneck! Cheap gear and/or (re)build it myself.
We'll never know.
Welcome to the fold!
