    Hello,

Im new to this forum. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the Squier classic vibe 50's telecasters? I was set to buy a Squier modified 70's strat, but saw alot of great reviews for the tele. Appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Hello there cpbortel, welcome to TDPRI! You have come to the right place for information, views and comment about telecasters - and Strats, Gibson SG's, Yamahas, Epiphones, G&L's, and a hundred other guitar makers, and thousands of musicians (and, yes! - even BASS players!!!). Your life will never be the same again!
As for for Squier CV teles, you have scored points already by actually spelling 'Squier' correctly - dozens do not...
I had better leave room for someone else to comment, except to say that my own Vintage Blond CV tele (9 years old now) is a beautifully made guitar that is a joy to play and compares favourably to many guitars costing twice as much - I love it! For reviews etc, look at the sub forum for CV teles on TDPRI - you will find hundreds!

Welcome- sorry I can't help you on the guitar. We see very few Squires Downunder, mostly Strat. Affinity packs, haven't seen a Tele but I gather they are pretty reasonable from comments here.

I've played one once, but I really don't know anything about them.

    Welcome!

Another howdy from Texas and welcome! I'm pretty new here myself, but this is a great forum.

As for the Squier CVs, I currently have two (CV50's BSB and CVC), and I love them both. I haven't had either very long and am new to guitar overall so I'm still learning what makes a 'good' guitar (other than you liking it), but the only issue I've had with either so far is there seems to be a high fret on the BSB, and I'm still trying to confirm it's real and not just my setup.

Love it. First guy compliments Squier spelling. Second guy misspells it.

You can't go wrong with either.
The CVs are known for their great quality and sound, but frankly, I don't miss anything in my VM myself. As long as you like glossy necks, just take whatever plays better or, if you can't play them side by side, whatever is cheaper.
You'll end up with a solid instrument either way.
