Recently acquired a Squier Affinity Jazzmaster for a good price and I figured I'd start a mod thread.

First off, out of the box, this very lightly used guitar didn't disappoint at all.

Action was a tad high, frets were fine, tuners seemed to do the job.

I replaced the nut, strings then the pickguard with a red torty one and used a Jaguar style control plate.

I'm torn between putting covers on the existing pickups, that sound pretty good,or replacing them with pickups that suit my gigging, which is having a low output neck pickup, a high output bridge that gives a nice funky twang in between.

For that though, I'd have to maybe live with open coiled humbuckers without covers, so it's really a question of style over substance

It's a sweet guitar as it is though, looking forward to some fun with it

Served me two local gigs too

Looks great! I played one in a store and thought it was well worth the $199.
