OK..Well everything fits perfectly....Impressed with the ferrules...No alignment or install issues...The only mistake was the neck plate screws are too short by about 3/8. But the strat neck and body holes line up correctly as do the bridge plate and string holes. I think this will turn out nice.

Here's my Guitar Fetish surf green, but not an XGP.

    This is paulownia.

I'm surprised the neck plate screws are too short by that much. Don't understand. I thought those are standard for both Strat and Tele.

Also, I'm VERY surprised that you're saying that the body holes exactly line up with your neck's. That's next to impossible on anything from GuitarFetish, even XGP.

Just saying be careful. Even if the pocket fit seems ideal, I would be scared to drive those screws into the existing neck holes. I would be too worried about it pulling and twisting the neck. I would fill the neck holes and drill into the neck from scratch.

Did you try gently screwing the neck on with a hand screwdriver (not a power driver) to confirm you're at a 100% alignment match? Or did you kind of just see if the screw tips "went into" the neck holes?

Because they could be going into those holes, but at a bad angle when you drive them all the way in.

I'll get back on the neck when I actually mount it.....The screws were 1 1/2 not 1 3/4 there is enough meat to go 1 1/6 longer but I'm going with spec of 1 3/4.

The 12 I'm building now is poplar, an XGP with lipstick pickups.

    I freaking love GuitarFetish.

    Most of the time.

OK I got the 1 3/4 neck screws and took my time making sure the holes lined up........It was perfect....Tightened right up straight and square.....I'd did ream the body holes with the correct bit so the screws didn't screw into the body...Just the neck. Impressed I am....
    Cheers

I have a sunburst/white poplar XGP body with an Allparts neck.

Several small issues, but nothing I couldn't handle.

For the price I'm not complaining.

Got my eye on a double bound surf green body. Add a maple neck and outfitted with all gold hardware. I have a vintage pearl pickguard with cut outs for two Strat pickups.

Been looking for a home for a Cavalier Fat/Bakersfield Twin Lion.

Plus have had more time on my hands with the snow and cold weather.

You know what they say about idle hands.

I can't stand soldering, so on my 12 above with the lipstick pups, I bought GFS's Kwik-Plug system.

Control plate components are all pre-wired in a harness, and you just plug the pups in.

My only concern is the cap used:

They only make one type of harness, and I doubt the cap they used is the optimum for a 12 with low output lipstick pups.
