I've been looking for a small bodied (well not as small as a parlor) acoustic. The New Martin D Jr. 10e is on my short list, I have five guitars on it. I'm curious what the "10" stands for in the naming of this guitar. If you're interested my short list is the following:

    1) Fender CC-60s Concert
    2) Guild M-240e
    3) Taylor GS Mini
    4) Fender Paramount PM-TE
    5) Martin D Jr. 10e

The only ones available locally to try out are the Guild & Taylor. I'm hoping Guitar Center & Sam Ash will be getting these others in. I have a Taylor 410ce & a Yamaha A1R. Both very nice, but really uncomfortable for couch strumming.

I believe the “10” models have a thinner “000” body depth with rounded back edges. It also appears that the “10” models have replaced the orginal Dred Jr and Dred Jr 2 models (both now discontinued).

I have no idea how these compare to the old D Jr’s. Seem to be pretty much the same to me. I have an older one and it’s fantastic.

Same here, no comparison except the Taylor, which is nice. I bought the Martin D Jr e. My reasons, solid wood, 1 3/4ths nut, Martin quality. Another feature I like about my D Jr is the dreadnaught sound (heavier bottom) in a smaller guitar. My other acoustics are 00 size so the Martin gives me a dreadnaught without the shoulder pain.

If you're talking couch strumming the new 000 body might be perfect for you.

Sounds good. Can't wait to try one out. I did try a Taylor Big Baby out today, I liked that a lot, felt OK and it's 25.5" scale. So I guess I'm adding that to my short list. The Taylor GS-Mini is one loud little guitar, just feels a bit odd being so short.

Also I will add I played the D Jr and GS mini side by side and I preferred the deeper tone of the Martin. The GS is louder but not as full.
