To me Marshall is bad word for cleans.

I had huge gas for the 50W and even preordered it. I'm really thinking of cancelling my preorder and buying a Vox instead

I love Marshall amps but I don't really "get" this series of amps.

I’ve got gas overload for these! I’ve never been a Marshall guy, but that bluesbreaker/jtm style sound I’ve always loved! I’ll be checking one out. It’s about 3rd or 4th in line for amps I want/need... but it’s in line.

Keep the preorder, if you live t great, if not, you can return it or get your money back second hand...they’ll be in short supply for a while I imagine after the preorders are delivered.

Why? I don't know anything about Marshall but it seems they're based on classic Marshall tone? Or is it new soul in old body?

Tell us more about it. I'm interested in knowing why!

It’s the classic early Marshall sound with some updated features people wanted. Effects loop, attenuation, and master colume

If I hadn’t picked up a used Class5 head for less than the price of a pedal a couple years ago I’d be all over one of these.

I would probably have bought one but I have a DSL-15 that sounds great.

Honestly, too much time to think about it. I've also come to the realization that the Vox EL84 sound is the one I'm chasing anyway

I don't see anything innovative in the 5watter...

A simple rule of thumb: there is always GAS.

    Always.

But more specifically, although I'm not up to speed with what this model does that the rivals don't, it does fit the trend of smaller amps that deliver good tone at usable volumes. If it can deliver the desired Marshall sounds at a reasonable volume, and has the features like FX loops I'd expect of a bigger amp, I can see this selling loads.

I want one. I love the old bluesbreaker sound so if it has that im all over it. I tend to have a harder time buying amps than guitars though, every time i set my sights on a new amp i find a guitar to dry up my spending money. But i would defonately say these have my interest peak especially being a single channel amp.

I'm excited for em' but I've gotten to the point in my collection where I don't NEED this type of amp. So I will likely pick it up second hand or in trade, try it out, then flip it.

This is the source of my "meh": you can't swing a cat without hittin a simple, pretty-good-sounding 5watt tube amp these days. EVERYBODY makes one.

Not that that's a bad thing!

Dead on brother. There are so many options across many price points. On the other hand being a master of the home entertainment field (aka I suck to much to be seen on stage) the 1-5 watt jobbies are great for getting your tube burnin on without getting a divorce...or the cops called...assuming you live in a house with a yard and not an apartment/condo/tent.
