Degrees and diplomas are not necessarily proof of intelligence. I’ve seen a REALLY stupid neurosurgeon.

I too have struggled with the concept that it is possible that people who disagree with me are smart. Correlatively, the fact that less and less people agree with me as I get older has has made it tempting to assume that the proximate human population is, on the whole, stupider than it once was.

Self-awareness of this tendency has not proven to inoculate me against this first response to daily social interactions, so I imagine that those of you who have not considered that the unpopularity of your opinions may not be proof that everyone else is stupid are dealing with a level of impotent frustration that I wouldn’t wish on anybody.

Not having a degree or diploma is not necessarily proof of idiocy. I've seen a REALLY smart plumber.

Just saying that threads can and do grow and evolve/devolve beyond and away from the OP's intended topic, all the time.

    Obviously

social media, political correctness, and laziness are the culprits here. Everyone just wants a simple easy solution right off the bat without putting any real work into anything. Look at how things are made now. All cheaply made, mostly robots. Look at stuff from the turn of the century. It was built to last but cutting corners and making a solid product is long gone.

I have an old friend who has a PhD in Psychology and I’ve told him many times that he may know plenty of Psychology, but he’s dumb as a stump about anything else.
He runs a printing business that he inherited from his dad, never worked in Psychology, claims it doesn’t pay jack.

One observation I’ve made over the years.
There are three types of people, the ones who are good with numbers and the ones that aren’t.

Because it's just plain dumb, lots of times. And too often it ignores rational logic and goes for the quick and easy emotional "fix"

Funny, that was my description of blaming political correctness for all of society's ills.
