Didn't want to completely hijack lauke's thread......just got this over the weekend too. Weird and cool huh? Lauke is a better photog than I:

Giant brass trem block and unknown replacement pickups came with:

Rings like a friggin' bell. Great 2 and 4 (hell, all selections) tones. LOVE IT!! Strung w/ .011's, found the non-stock pickups when I had the strings off, decided to have a look, did not have my phone to snap pix. Next string change.......having too much fun, requisite sound clip shortly. WooHoo!

Congrats again on the cool guitar! ;) Any chance you could some time post pics of your pickups? Maybe we can figure out what they are. You've got me lusting for such a trem block by the way, haha.

And no problemo hijacking my thread if the guitars look the same, right? ;) But the photos aren't mine, the owner from the shop I bought it from took them. I do dabble in photography so I'll try to take some more nice shots. Still waiting for it to come in.

Sweeeet CV50 Strat, congrats! Gotta like that OlyWht & anodized pickguard, classy look no doubt.

Got one of those a few years ago on a late Friday night auction win for $206 & free shipping. Still ranks as maybe the "most for least $$" I've ever experienced?

Great guitar. All parts are rock solid and stock pups are pretty nice although they are not quite what's in the Simon Neil sig model.

Love the look of the Simon, what pickups are in there? Mine are aftermarket also I think (no gold oval sticker on mine and a black fiber bobbins), I will have a look this weekend when I re-string.

OK, did some searching, (and took the PG off again) the pickups in mine are stock. Thought because they sounded so good and didn't have the sticker that was on the CV strat owners (and my 1st CV 50's), a gold foil oval sticker, that they were after market. Sounds AWESOME out of the factory. There is definitely after market soldering going on, maybe 60's pups in a 50's model. I'm tired of speculating, and just gonna enjoy,,,,,,here's the crap pix I took when re-stringing:

Yup, the coding on the pickups looks like Squier to me, but I have no idea if they're stock or they might be from a '60s strat. Oh well, as long as they sound good ;)

Still waiting on mine, the guitar wasn't in on Thursday but Friday morning I had to leave for the weekend. Tomorrow will be the day!

I got a CV50 Strat, [candy apple red with matching headstock],a couple months ago and it is an amazing bargain, even at full price.. Quarter sawn neck on mine.. I'm playing it more than any of my others because it is plays like buttah and sounds so good..

Thanks for the info. Was rocking out at a jam yesterday and stayed primarily on the middle pup (we were playing Bonnie Raitt, sounded damn near like hers), couldn't be more pleased with this, fell asleep with it plugged in to the Pathfinder while watching SNL last nite (was jamming along w/ Vampire Weekend??). Strat-tastic goodness all pickup selections, my tiny mitts love the neck.
