By saying lacquer, I suppose they mean nitro. No price yet, I wonder how much more these will street for vs. The poly, and if the classic 60's will get it as well.

No classic 60's Telecaster announced, but there will be a Classic 50's Stratocaster in Candy apple red and a 60's in 3TS.

I have nothing against poly, but the new one looks whiter and less translucent, which I really like.

And yes!, Fender's site says Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer.

Great looking tele. I'm surprised it doesn't have brass saddles, but chrome is fine. The "C" shape neck concerns me. I don't want a strat type neck on a tele. It has nice features though.

Wow! If this is the MIM 50's Classic with un upgraded Nitro finish on the body and neck, they should be awesome. The only thing I didn't really like on the regular 50's Classic was the poly finish. Even though it says C shape neck, they're usually a fairly full profile. Gotta try one.
    Swang on,

I'd say MIM, the ID model n° starts with 014 like the Standard model.

Then if they did it with the 60s model, I'd buy one. Need a nice rosewood board nitro tele...

If it's a MIA it will be a cool guitar and I normally hate R.I. Stuff. I don't think you can accuratlly capture an instrument made 60 years ago. If there doing a classic 50s and are just shooting for the along those lines they can probably nail it and make a great instrument.

MIM. The Classic series (Classic '50s & Classic '60s) and the Classic Player series (Baja, etc.) are the top of the line MIMs.
