Those damned medium frets that Wildwood always orders on their special order guitars! I didn't see radius, but it is probably 9.5" too. Argh. Other than that, they're perfect!

Lovely guitar. Lovely look. As you say, sweet.

....but ditto @heffus - that's very Sonic Blue.

Very, very like Sonic Blue. Edit: and labelled as such!

I have an AVRI refin Daphne Blue.

I'm not that into vintage specs, and apparently neither are they, so would it kill them to put compensated saddles on this thing?

I'm typically a rosewood fretboard kind of guy but this one is really working aesthetically :)

    It sure is gorgeous.

If you have the money, the saddles would be easy to fix. Often if the tech is skilled, these will do. Nice.

Great looking guitar, but the "relic-ready" concept sounds like pure marketing B.S.

That one is nice and light. They have three in sonic blue; one they call faded sonic blue. I prefer the reliced CS guitars because you see what you get. I’m not sure how the “relic ready” on this guitar pans out over time; my AV’64 peels almost like the shell of a boiled egg.

Relic ready is the same as nitro in the Thin Skins and AV's(2012-2017) I'm assuming, i.e. thin nitro, i.e. the best finishes imo.

    :^)

I take that to mean, if it gets dinged in transit on its way to you, you owe the seller more money, not the other way around.

" The result is a guitar that accumulates wear-and-tear at an exponentially higher rate than normal."

So, it looks great in a year or two. What about in ten? Every guitar looks like Rory's Strat?

    Gimme a break.

I cannot believe they get (or ask) $4200 for these. $2k, max.

    But I like the color:

Pretty guitar. Off by at least a factor of two, but you can't get it if you don't ask for it.

They all look like $1400 guitars to me. They're in the ballpark of a new collings cl deluxe. Really bizarre.

Their prices are ridiculous. The one time I called to ask about a Tele and a possible discount, the guy was such a smug ***** it turned me off from ever spedning a nickle with them. Daves on the other hand was so friendly and said take 10% off any Custom Shop model. Just my experience. Overpriced to say the least.

Unfortunately you are most likely an outlier in regards to your experience. If you search on here or ask people(including myself who have dealt with them multiple times), they have been exceptional with their customer service, and they will give discounts if you ask.

In regards to prices, I'm not sure what people are making such a big deal about here. These work out to be around-ish the same price as a Custom Shop where I live (Canada). Their Wildwood Thin Skins(essentially the continuation of the American Vintage/Pure Vintage line) are the exact same price as the AV/PV are.

The one I linked is a custom shop with a bit of their own specs. Is it more than it should be? That depends on how much someone wants those specs. But they are Custom Shop guitars and are only a small amount more than Fenders CS stuff(I'm talking NOS-Fenders relics are more).

Attach to ball hitch of your pickup with a chain and drag it though the crossroads at midnight.
