Any tips on getting the intonation set on the 3-saddle bridge?
You may have to compromise a little to have perfect intonation on 3-barrel, non-compensated bridges. You can bend the screw to move the saddle the way you want it after you get it as close as possible but it will not turn very well after it's bent. I always either replace the barrels with compensated ones or get it as close as possible and live with it.
Never had one but yes, it seems every body sets a good compremise and then some (not all) 'adjust' the angle on the screw a bit. Fender setup manual 1997 onward says not to bend the screws. If you never change brands or gaudge of string and trust the string maker for consistancy you could bend the screws a little but maybe that 'vintage' Tele sound needs somethings left alone.
