U2, I change the station when they come on the radio. Same old jangly guitar and boring vocals in every song.

I leave any room playing Supertramp. Mrs. grooveiron hates me then…

I agree, but the earlier, pre-hits, Boz Scaggs era stuff is pretty cool.

The Bob Welch version was bad enough, but the Buckingham/Nicks version is anathema to me.

Rush is a very different proposition to Journey. Rush has had a massive following for decades and, even now they're in hiatus / retirement, they're still selling well and starting to get the level of recognition and credibility that they deserve, IMO. I must confess that I've been a fan from the first time I heard their first album - the year after it was released. Who knows from where our preferences are derived? I know Geddy's voice is "Marmite" but their musicianship is top-notch.

Journey was (is?) a great bunch of musicians - many of which were former members of Santana - another of my favourites. However, Journey seemed to lose its way altogether and fell off my radar. I can't recall seeing them touring the UK for quite some time - unless I've missed the listings.

I know certain people dispise shredders and some do seem endlessly boring, i admire the players who can bring out melody playing fast. Mind you Buckethead has made few fast songs with melody, but to me he sounds a bit to machine gunish at times, i prefer ones that can mix legato in with their picking to great effect, and of course choose the right scales to do this in as well.

Remember many great musicians from the past played fast and were please to the ear also.

Funny enough- I've been diagnosed several times. A series of questions and then "Ok, it seems that you don't like McCartney's tendency to use the minor blemished 12th to transition out of a decrescendo, and you seem to have a mild aversion to Lennonist melody structure, but you actually quite like George Harrison."

If you'd ever encountered one of those true-blue Beatles zealots who learned you don't like the Beatles, you'd know that no amount of cool points is worth the risk. Sure, there are zealots in every fan base, but something about Beatles zealots is next-level.

    I was gonna say Phish,but I'm still exploring.Dave Matthews.That.voice.
I'd rather hear Dylan for a week than 1 minute of Dave Matthews!

If he didn't like the band, what makes you think an even longer version of Free Bird is gonna change his mind?

Even more so as I don't know which particular song I dislike more: Sweet Home Alabama or Freebird.
Anyway, this thread is obviously not about DISCUSSING bands you don't like, but simply naming them.

Pretty much all the "Classics". There are some songs from those bands that I like, but as a whole, I don't see the big deal.
