it makes the sounds I hoped it would. always wanted a boogie. got one. woot!
Good looking rig. Congrats.
I owned the same amp and loved it. If I was in a band at the time, it would have been a keeper. Loved the Clean and Blues channels. Only sold the Express because I owned vintage Fender and Marshall amps at the same time, and I also wanted to buy another Mark Series Boogie.
The 5:50 (non-plus) Express was one of best sounding Mesa’s that I’ve owned, and definitely one of the the easiest Mesa’s to dial-in.
Congrats. I just got an Express Plus 5:50 and am very happy with it. They’re great amps.
Which modes and setting are you liking bests so far?
Make sure you spend some time with the 5 watt setting. There are a lot of good sounds there, especially in the Crunch and Blues modes.
I've also got the plus version and love it. Most versatile amp I've ever had. Congrats.
Those are nice. I may pick up an F-30 head tomorrow.
so far I'm in 5w on the crunch setting. it does that great off clean growl that I was looking for. sounds so good on double stops and when I dig in on chords. so far been pretty stoked and haven't played around much once I settled in on this tone. I will, but for now just playing this one to death lol.
to be honest, it will likely live in 5w. im a bedroom picker at the end of the day. im glad ive got enough if I ever do end up in a band again, but that seems pretty unlikely these days.
