    Thanks Jakedog,
I think you've answered all my questions.
    I owe you a beer.
I'm looking forward to hearing from the distributor here in Canada,to see when they are arriving.

I will no longer be posting amp recommendations. Because this is the only amp I can recommend. That is all.

I can hardly wait to try one.
The local GC has the 45W Jazz model.
I’m holging out for the Jakedog, er, Frank Gambale signature model.

    You still in love Jakedog?
Have you got a footswitch for it?
I just received word that the FGC 121 won't be landing here in Canada till March or
    April.
    I'm going to be patient.
This amp is at the top of my list for 2018

I absolutely love it. So does everybody I've played with. I used it last night in a really loud and rowdy biker bar. Master on "2". Next to a Fender supersonic head and 4x12 cab. It cut just fine.

It's so small, so light, and so powerful. And it sounds great. I love it.

I did get a footswitch, just yesterday. I'll be dialing in today. I use the overdrive in my Nova System for soloing. I plan to dial in the Drive channel on the amp for a nice dirty rhythm tone.

What did you get for a foot switch?
Do you need a TRS cable for it ?
How is the amp live coverage wise ?
Pretty good sound dispersion or more directional?

I bought a livewire single button foot switch brand new for $20. It only had about a six foot cable though, so I took it apart and attached a 15' length of nice whirlwind cable.

The amp fills a room. It disperses rather nicely. I've also been using a tilt back stand. Amp is still down on the floor, but tilted back at an angle. Really spreads it out well. But it does fine right on the floor, too.

    Hey Jakedog,
Still a while till this amp hits Canada.
It's still at the top of my list.
The Blues Cubes have me intrigued, but I have a feeling the FGC would be more up my alley with the simplicity and especially the high headroom, which is where I think a
Blues Cube stock will come up short.
Have you tried any of the new Cubes.
How's the honeymoon going with the FGC.
    Any new insights to share?
Where are the jacks for loop, etc.hidden?
    Easy to get to?

I haven't tried any of the new Cubes except the "hot" model. Wasn't terribly impressed. Very boxy. The others sound much better in the demos, but they're much more expensive...

The jacks are on the underside of the chassis. Like the speaker jacks on a fender hot rod. Very easy to get to, for me. YMMV.

I love this amp. I've been gigging it solid, and I'm still in love. It may not be for everybody, but it sure as hell works for me. If it proves long term reliable, I can't imagine a better amp for what I want. I gigged it again tonite, and will the next three nights.

The weight, footprint, power, headroom, all make it a working musicians dream IMO. And it takes effects in the front end like a champ.

I'll use it til it quits, or I do. I don't see a reason to buy another amp unless it dies, or they come out with an updated model that sounds even better.

    Well Jakedog,
I've been giving it my best shot to check one of these out,but no go so far.
My music store spoke with the distributor and the only way to get one here in Canada
is through special order with a six month wait.
WTF. That's one slow boat from Italy.
My cost would be $1000 Canadian.
I spoke with Musicians Friend in the U.S and they actually have them in stock.
They were having a 15% off sale.
That would make the FGC 121 $465 U.S.
With exchange rate and Canadian HST it would cost me $690 Canadian to land it here..
I'm going to sit tight tight for the moment.
I'm considering a used Blues Cube Artist also, but would love to try out the FGC.
We'll see where my search leads me.

So weird that it's so hard to get up there. That's nuts!

    Good luck in your search.

Can't seem to find 'em in Japan either. There are a couple DVM models around, but not that one...

Speaking of old solid state amps, all kinds of bands back when I was in Junior high had those Thomas Organ made Vox. Maybe it was a west coast thing. I still think a Royal Guardsman is one of the coolest looking amps of all time. I don't think I'd ever want one at this point, but when I was 13 it was my dream amp!

Still waiting for a Guitar Friend MK II to be available somewhere close to me. Kind of distracted by the Marshall Origin 20, but they aren't available yet either.

FGC121 enroute, an open box one from GC, and I hope it's not the one that someone here had ordered and returned because of incessant buzzing.

They now list this model as discontinued on their website. If this is your forever amp, might be time to keep the eye out for blowout sales in case you want a backup . . .
