As well as being a diabetic and having a heart issue & Fibromyalgia, my dear, sweet Mom has found out that she has Spinal Stenosis.....and it's already been causing her major pain issues. :( The bad thing is that there's not a damn thing they can do for it.

Plus, an aunt of mine found out this week that she's got lung cancer - but the doctors caught it early so....there's a good chance that she'll beat it. Here's praying that she does.

Anyway....if ya'll would lift up some prayers for my two sweet family members, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks, fellas & ladies!!!

Sorry that I haven't been around much. I don't play "American Truck Simulator" or "Euro Truck Simulator" anymore.....I got bored with those pretty quick.

It’s always tough on the person with the medical issue. But I’ve outlived enough people to know that the family and friends that are helping out are also affected. That’s an aspect a lot of people on the outside don’t think about.

I hope your momma does okay. She's probably as good friend as you'll ever have. The thing about mommas, when they leave you, they leave a hole in your heart that won't ever heal. Take care of her, and enjoy the time you have with her. I have so many loved ones in my rear view mirror, you'd think I'd get used to it, but you never get used to losing love ones. I hope your momma, and your aunt can get treatment that helps them both.

Prayers and best wishes, man.....I'm very fortunate that my 93 year-old mother is still with us, although she's only a shadow of her former self. Like TD says, enjoy and appreciate the time you DO have with her, and all your loved ones.....none of us are guaranteed ANYTHING in life.

Best wishes and positive thoughts from here. A woman I work with was bitterly complaining that her husband always drops whatever he's doing whenever his moms calls him. She said, "Can you believe that?!" I said, "Of course. It's his mom." She became even more disgusted and stormed off.

I'm not married, so no one complains about my having to check in on my mom every day.....but if there was someone to do so, I'd just try to explain that I'm simply making a TINY repayment for everything my mom did for me. I've explained here before much of what she did in the way of music lessons, helping acquire guitars, and much more than I can list here. Bottom line is, if not for my mom and her support, I PROBABLY wouldn't be on a guitar discussion site! ;)

Both my Mom and Dad are gone as well as all my aunts and uncles.

At the family reunions, I'm one of the dinosaurs. Damn, how did I get this old.o_O

Be with them every minute you can while they're here.

Say everything you need to say, do all the good deeds you can for them. If you don't, you will regret it.

You're here because you play music? Pick up a guitar, play them some tunes. Take their minds off the aches and pains for a few minutes.

Prayers are coming your way from Idaho. Have a great and safe holiday!

Both you and your mom need to be familiar with something called cauda equina syndrome, as spinal stenosis can sometimes develop into something much more serious. Fortunately it's pretty rare, but needs immediate surgery to prevent permanent paralysis.

Sorry to hear. I've had spinal stenosis for years now and yeah, it kinda sucks. Some days are better than others but those bad days....suck.

Prayers and good wishes for you and your family. It is very hard to watch the folks that used to take care of you start to have problems. Hoping for the best for everyone.
