SNAP! I wrote an email to SD and they said it would be cheaper and quicker to order a custom made pup to my spec.

Did you end up doing it, or did you keep a stock antiquity?

Still got the stock sadly, might someday get it done. How does one go about changing a magnet ?

The stock pups sound great to me! Why try and fix it if it aint broken!

It's suppose to be easy to swap out the magnet... all you need is a soldiering iron. Remove the solder that holds the cover on. Swap out the magnet. I think the key is just making sure the magnet goes in the correct way. The north side is supposed to be marked... This is all coming from second hand info... I've never done it! But I would be interested in hearing the difference... but like I said- if it aint broke dont fix it!

It's a treble bleed. Really works nice with rolling down the volume and maintaing the highs...:)

Someone here is selling a used one in the classifieds (unaffiliated). I know that Armadillo sells them.

EDIT: but the one in the classifieds is an Am Std mount.

I just got my keef saddle today. I went with a gfs alnico 2 for the neck.
I am going for a don mare as soon as funds allow.
The armadillo bridge is top quality.

But 135 Dollar for a bridge is a number. Whoo.

The January 1997 cover of guitar world shows the humbuckers in the normal position with the pole pieces closest to the neck, so either way can be correct.

That's guitar player January 1997 , I used to have the original issue and when I did my old Ibanez micawber mods I was specific about pickup orientation.

Do you have pics ? Maybe its Malcolm and not Micawber

I have some other questions about Micawber. I think I am going to build a kind-of as soon as my freetime allows. I already found a chrome plated brass bridge with brass saddles for 30 €. Was Keiths bridge ever chrome or nickel plated ? Or was it unfinished brass since ever ?

And what about his other Open-G Tele, Malcolm, does it also have a brass bridge ? Its hard to see on the pics that I found

That's a Schecter brass bridge on Micawber. it started out like that - only new back then.

on Malcolm, there's a standard Fender chrome plated brass bridge

Thanks. I assume the one on the picture is Malcolm right ? A really, really beautyful guitar, evern nicer than Micawber in my eyes-
