Just about wrapped up on my first partscaster build! Need to finish the wiring. Added the strap buttons since this photo. I don’t have nut files, so I’m going to drop the guitar with a friend’s shop for final setup. I rough adjusted the intonation and set the bridge radius to match the neck.

A lot of fender parts. Fender lacquer 50’s mim neck, american original vintage pickups, fender neck plate and ferrules.

Gotoh vintage tuners, Glendale raw control plate and knob, rutters bridge, callaham compensated saddles, electrosocket jackplate. Switch and jack are switchcraft, cts pots. Not sure who made the pickguard, I think it’s a fender 3 ply parchment.

The body is finished by Dustin Bloomer (bloomdoom on reverb and ebay). Nitro finish with a bit of checking. He used to work for MJT. Really well done.

I can’t wait to play it! Here it is with my 52 avri. They’re both about 6.8 pounds. I think the AVRI is slightly lighter.

Looking good! I was going to say that would look great with a black Bakelite guard but I see you've already got one of those and probably want something different.

Yeah, something different is nice, but I also had the parchment guard. Tried to keep the cost down by using parts I already had on hand.

Thanks! Did most of the wiring last night. Missing a tone cap, d’oh. Bummed I can’t get it setup until next week

It’s back and plays great! Neck needed a shim with the body. I reversed the output wires by accident, easy fix. Other than that, everything went together very well.

Tonally, it’s great. Love the Fender OV pickups, different from the broadcaster set made by Peter Florance (rip) that are in my 52 avri. The broadcaster set rip. These are lighter. The neck is more suited for jazz tones as well. Lower output but good texture. The rutters bridge is very nice. The cutaway sides make it a bit easier to play than a traditional bridge.

    So far so good!
