I tried a variation of this on my Saxophone forum and got some rather interesting replies. Let's see what happens here: I am not a numerologist, but 999 is an interesting number, divisible by 3, 9, 111,333, and various other numbers as well. (Thanks Eddie Izzard) Turn it upside down and you have 666, which is also divisible by 3,9,111, and 333... 153 + 315 + 531 = 999 The number 666 raised to the 5th power gives 131,030,122,140,576. And 131+030+122+140+576 = 999. It is one short of 1000. It is the last of the 3 digit numbers. If you add the digits, you get 27 which is also divisible by 3 and 9. If you add the digits of 27 you get 9 which is also divisible by 3 and 9. The number is a palindrome. If you read it backward or forward it is the same thing. It is a climactic number which creates anticipation the thousanth post. This post and is so totally useless, the thousanth has no choice but to be better.
