I was doing my normal rounds at the pawnshops, when I noticed this on a guitar stand in front of the racks at one of my regular stops.

I saw the $100 price, but I thought for sure it was an MIM.

Couldn't believe they were asking $100 for it.

Took it to the counter and wanted to haggle because of the scratches and dents around the body.

They said it just came out and they wouldn't budge on the price. I asked for the case and they said it didn't come with one.

I said it should have one, and I wanted a case.

They looked but couldn't find one.

I told them they owed me one, and I be checking back later for one.

    They were OK with that.

I haven't had a chance yet to put is through it's paces, but the neck feels great and it doesn't weight a ton.

I don't normally post a pic of the receipt, but I didn't want anyone to cal BS on me.

The receipt clearly says “NO CASE” so i gotta call bs on this one. :D Seriously though nice find. I make rounds at a few pawn shops every few months too but unfortunately haven’t come across a score like that.

You got a US Telecaster for $100 and are complaining about no case. I am guessing you would also complain about not being hung with a new rope.

    Thanks PA.

I do this 5 days a week all day 52 weeks a year.

Stop at as many pawnshops that I pass by during my outside sales routes.

I travel about 75-100 miles a day, and I pass buy quite a few pawnshops.

I always keep cash on me for these situations.

You just never know when you're going to run into something.

    Gotta be prepared.

How does a pawnshop stay in business being that ignorant? Just curious...

    It's not complaining.

I ask them in a very nice way.

I just tell that a guitar like this should have a case and I'd really like to have one.

I'm not a new face to these stores.

They've seen me hundreds of times, and they know the drill.

They know I'm going to ask for a lower price know matter how cheap, and I'm going to expect a case with any guitar I buy.

95% of the time, I leave with a case, even if the guitar wasn't sold to them with one.

For gear it's probably the best areas in the US for amazing pawhshop deals.

I plan to hunt down as many killer deals for the next 10 yrs. or until I retire.

    Which ever comes first.

By the way, I just scored this killer deal at another pawnshop on this '92 USA Hamer Chaparral bass last week.

These pawnshops around here know not what they do, but I LOVE it.

That would be a bargain for an MIM telecaster also.

In the old days this was common with pawn shops. Not anymore!!

It's too bad more pawn shops aren't run by technophobes who can't login to eBay.

    Thanks.

I've really scored A LOT of really killer deals at pawnshops, but I've never followed it up with buying a lottery ticket.

Since I found 2 killer deals in the last 2 weeks, maybe this is the time to do it. :D
