Several Norwegian Black Metal Bands. Yes, I know, quite a few of those musicians are thugs who did horrible things. Some of them try too hard to be scary, and their lyrics are useless ... but I love the genre's sound

First couple albums I bought were the Partridge Family. When I was young, I just liked the songs. Years later, I realized people like Tommy Tedesco played on those tracks.

And yeah, I still like those albums. Well crafted stuff.

I also love the Monkees. Seems like in recent years, those records are finally getting a little respect.

I'm more embarrassed that I hang out with people who make fun of things I like than I will ever be by those things themselves.

Nah, I don't really care any more. If someone wants to condescend to me because of some of the music I listen to, that's on them.

I actually admire Justin Bieber's talent. I play his music once in a while on the looper. "Let me love you" is a fun tune to play on the acoustic.

Dee Murray was Elton's late, great bass player.
    He passed in 1992.
Davey Johnsone is Elton's great, longtime guitarist.

    Loved em' too.
I wanted to play trumpet when I was a kid.
I dug HA & the TB most of all until those long haired Liverpudlians showed up.
Great, eloquent, evocative, memorable tunes, expertly arranged and performed.
    What's not to like?

Learning to play the opening lick for Lonely is the Night is a rite of passage.

I don't get it how you guys can be "embarassed" about something like music, maybe it's the coolness factor ? so if something is liked by the "masses" it's just not cool as you become part of the "mass" and most people like to stand out ?

I like many artists, spreading across many genres, from the heavy metal side to the more poppish side, yeah i like Taylor Swift (there i said it ) as i like Rage Against The Machine per say, different music with different intentions, but both ( and all ) share a common goal, communicate.

"Ohne Musik wäre das Leben ein Irrtum" ( without music life would be a mistake ).

Do you like it ? does it make you feel good ? there's little to be embarassed about.

That's the shame about the modern, pop way of constricted singing that comes from the throat instead of the lungs. When Myley Cyrus stops that, and just *sings.* she has a great voice. As a singer she's the real deal.

I'm comfortable in my own skin... I honestly don't care what others think - I like what I like.
Most 70's and 80's AM pop music is stuff a lot of people tend to dis.... I like it. When flashbacks of Casey Kasem is on the radio I enjoy it to the fullest.

That is the riff I play when I am dialing in a light overdrive pedal, or a backline amp at a gig. "Don't Say No" was a great sounding album... especially those guitar tones.

One more. I once sat around for hours trying to record "Josie's on a vacation far away..." by The Outfield on my casette deck boom box and multiple fm radio stations. Misspent youth or dedication, take your pick.;)
