I'm not sure if it more embarrassing to note that I don't think the stuff people are listing here is that bad

To me the bad music is the insincere stuff which the artist considers to be manipulative rubbish - but if that scratches your itch, what's wrong with that?

I feel this thread is a bit like saying 'I scratch my back with a pool cue' why is that anyone's business?

Perhaps if someone said 'I look up to and idolise XYZ', when those people are laughing about the dross they sold you, that isn't so cool

I grew up playing the french horn and trumpet.

And one half step away from Montoya is Francisco Tarrega.

I took my kids to a Back Street Boys concert years ago and was prepared to hate it but the songs were great as was the backing band

I also do like some Manilow.

Wife took me to a Luther vandross concert many moons ago and he was great live

Always loved the Monkees as they were my first musical inspiration.

Surely Tommy James and the Shondells qualify...you get a genuine master to chew bubble gum...

the original AM radio version was the best argument ever for owning an AC30, but that's a different rendition lol

    Guilty.

I went through a phase where I was buying all the Herb Alpert and Neil Diamond albums I could find at the thrift stores. Funny thing is, it's possible to get ALL of them...

    Okay, I can do this...

I really enjoyed Ylvis' "What Does the Fox Say". Intended as a parody of pop music, which made it a perfect pop song, which completed the circle of irony. I loved it.

My iPod broke the other week and won't synchronise past 'b' now

Made me realise how very weird Abba music is. I would have always filed it next to disco but listening again I think I would put it next to Kraftwerk

I like lots of 70s cheese ball music- just the other day I was playing the "I never wanted to love a man the way that I want to love you" song by captain and tenelle and my 13 daughter gave me the what is wrong with you look.

There's a couple of hits by female singers, from a while back:

    Alannah Myles: Black Velvet.
    Sam Brown: Stop

Reminiscing by the Little River Band.
Roy Clark's version of Yesterday When I Was Young.
    Roger Whittaker's The Last Farewell.

But the greatest of my guilty pleasures is Starbuck's Moonlight Feels Right, with a stunning marimba solo by celebrity nutritionist guru Bo Wagner:
