Love Edie! Ghost of a Dog was a stunning album..
My first rock concert was Uriah Heep ~ probably 1974.
In the '80s, my wife brought home a Go Gos 33 1/3. I loved it.
Two influences made me switch from piano to guitar at age 11 :
Glen Campbell's 12 STRING GUITAR on a reel to reel tape (definitely NOT embarrassed by this one ~ it's a smoking recording),
...and The Monkees .
I don't know about embarrassed but one thing I love that most people seem to hate is Lars Ulrich's drumming. That guy gets so much flack, but he's one of my favorite drummers.
Alright, cover me! I'm going for it...................
Electric light orchestra, The Brothers Gibb, 10,000 maniacs.
Oh the shame
Guns 'N Roses (first album, before all the drama)
Yeah, but that one was...........like........you know........the GOOD album!
I like Elton John. Yeah, that's right, I said it.
Dee Johnson I think…
Elton John's guitarist
The only other one I can think of might be Sha Na Na. I wore out 3 of their cassettes in my Walkman knockoff as a kid.
Fountains of Wayne, Supertramp, Billy Joel, early Madonna... That's enough, I'm feeling weird, out.
I'm fond of Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne
Oh yeah, love me some ELO.
The song? Or the Mom??
Umm, maybe P!NK, but I only really like the song Try... I also listen to a few soundtracks from musicals every now and again. Really, I don't listen to much I would be embarrassed about!
I love ELO. I should not be ashamed for this because Jeff Lynne is clearly a composition genius. But ELO music is a guilty pleasure like a hot fudge sundae or Nachos at midnite.
My wife and I were playing Karma Chameleon for my 8 year old daughter the other day, dancing and singing along trying to get her into it. She thought we were weird; I thought, "hmm, this is not a bad song".
My Chemical Romance
Song. Haven't seen the video, I guess that's what you mean?
It does appear that many of these guilty pleasures involve attractive female performers though…
