Me too! The worst part is when you're working with a bunch of union pipe fitters and realize you've been singing "Man...I feel like a woman" under your breath...

This is one of my favorite songs. Not afraid to admit it.

I like what I like and I really don't care what someone else thinks about it, so there is no single artist or group that I could put into that category. When I was kid I listened to tons of stuff my peers thought was stupid, or old fashioned or they just never heard of it, so I guess I haven't cared since I was a kid.

I've devised a foolproof method for killing song embarrassment. Find an acoustic or instrumental cover. If the song still holds up in its most stripped out form, it's an objectively good song and nobody can give you any legitimate grief for liking it.

I've gotten more people than I can count to admit the creative talent of Lady Gaga by playing Vitamin String Quartet's cover of Alejandro.

When I was a kid growing up in the 80s I'd sit about at friends houses and talk about all the cool indie and metal bands , then run home and play my Billy Ocean lp !!

I admit that some of Hanson's tunes are catchy as hell. Whether kids or adults, they have some damn good writting and from time to time, when I want a pop influence, I will drag some of their tunes out and give them a spin.

Whew, I can applaud you guys for leaving your man card next to the coffee pot this morning, but this is becoming too revealing of song appreciation for me. The hairs on my neck are standing straight out from these confessions. Ewwww. I hope this doesn't hinder anyone, but I have to go crank up some old Black Sabbath to erase/burn some of these tunes out of my head and then go out and chain saw some monster trees down for awhile to keep them away. Icky, icky, ewwwy goooooey. This has just gone too far for me.:lol::twisted:

Taylor swift has written some cracking songs, and those who write for people like Katy, Britney, etc are absolute pop geniuses. There's a song writer in England called Cathy Dennis. In the early 90's she was a some time pop star in her own right, but in the end she became a song writer to the stars, wrote loads of international hits. To understand the formula, and be able to write in the formula, that gets my respect.
