I know maybe three.
It isn't the music, but the fact that she has a short list and gets EVERY new album one of a handful of performers put out.
Joni's a Goddess! In her 1960-70's prime, her writing, (body of work), voice & guitar had no female rivals & still doesn't, to this day
Stuff she likes that I don't?
Hmm... Tool, Live, and... I can't think of anything else.
You asked for it...
(I Dig it too, just surprising, that's all...)
My wife tends to like the sort of whiny-girl music one would expect of a woman her age. She also likes the Eagles way too much.
She does not like the majority of the music I like, mostly because my tastes are just too broad for her. This does not mean that there isn't enough overlap that we can't find anything to listen to on the car radio.
Hey! Fatty Boom Boom is in heavy rotation at La Casa LoveHandles:
My wife is into hip hop and reggaeton. Lots of The Weeknd lately. The funny thing is, she hates it when I swear.
My wife likes some things I consider disposable, but other wise she likes
Minus The Bear
All that new poppy teenie stuff. Ugh.
She likes good music, nothing too harmonically out there
She likes happy or sappy stuff. Ugh.
The Rolling Stones.
All the time.
Some good stuff, by my definition. Some things only girls like. She likes me though and lets me feel her up, so she can listen to whatever she pleases.
Reading this thread I'm realizing I'm really lucky. My wife has great taste in music, at least I can say it jibes with my own. She loves Django, Stephane Grappelli, all kinds of Brazilian music from the Jobim classics to Jorge Ben. She loves great stuff from Oscar Peterson and Henri Mancini to Freddie King to Marty Stuart to Tom Petty and even AC/DC.
I like it when I can introduce her to something previously unknown to her which isn't very often. She's continually turning me onto music I didn't previously know about, like this guy:
Uh, we don't play no happy songs. -Mike Ness
