Today was opening day for the summit road and the weather could not have been more agreeable. Such an amazing place.

Nice pics. Looks like Tuckermans is just about unskiable.

Nice pics! I am fortunate enough to have done the hike, and skied Tuckerman. Great place. I was part of my college outdoor adventure club when I did that trip. We camped that weekend. Skiing, rock climbing...had a fantastic time! Those pics bring back fond memories. Thanks for posting! :)

I used to think those bumperstickers were lame...until I drove that road.

What a great looking day! One of the most fun hikes I have ever taken. I looked for a photo to add the the thread and all I could find were some misty, poorly focused shots from Franconia Notch, NH, which must have been a different trip.

I hiked up and down that mountain twice, it's a tough hike but got lucky both times with good weather. Is old Peppersass still running?

You have the most photogenic dog!

I'm waiting for Trail Ridge Rd. to open this year in RMNP. We had snow on Wednesday. I think it'll be a little late this year.

Wow, it's lucky to have such a clear view. I love Mt W, I've been up there many times, skiing Tucks, Hillman's, Gulf of Slides, etc. We winter camped up there a few times. On a clear day, I can see it from my house on the Maine coast. Nice photos!

It amazing how taxing it is on a modern car, lots of people disregard the warnings to pull over and let the brakes cool and you can smell their brakes and transmissions overheating as they go squeelng down the mountain. One car that was going up while we we're going down actually slid off the road on the gravel section. Two kids from Florida of all place myself and anither bug dude got him back on the road.

Been there many times, we also hiked and drove. Makes for two very different and distinct memories. :)

Also brings back memories of hanging out in Franconia Notch...

They do a timed race/rally up that road...or they used to.
    The elapsed times defy logic.

Amazing that is wasn't windy up there! In all my years as a weather forecaster, I would always pull up Mt Washington to see how windy it was that given day...it always made the weather where I was seem ok.
