    For those who use the JD-10 as a direct recording device, how do you
    order other effects in the chain before going into the recorder: guitar -->
    JD-10 --> other effects (in the usual recommended order) --> recorder or
    guitar --> effects --> JD-10 --> recorder?

    Thanks in advance.

    Here's the order I use with a JD-20...

    Maxon Compressor or AnalogMan Juicer -> Demeter Tremulator -> JD-20 -> (Little Lanilei or Holy Grail reverb - sometimes) -> Maxon Analog Delay.

    The idea is that the "sag" and trem happen before the JD-20 amp simulator does its thing. The reverb unit is supposed to sound like amp reverb instead of real reverb / ambience. The Maxon Delay is set to a very short, soft, muffled slap-back to make it sound like there was a little "air" captured in the recording process. I experimented alot, but pretty much settled on this sequence a couple of years ago.

    More about my lo-tech recording "techniques" here...

    Thanks! This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I'll also
    check out the link that you gave me for more info.
