So, a Tele with Strat body, a Jazzmaster with a Tele body, a Gretsch with a Tele body, Tele with 2 humbuckers, and a Strat with Jag switching. Nothing new, just playing mix and match. Not very creative, IMO. I thought the Cyclone was more creative, even though it was just mix and match, too. I almost bought one, kinda wish I had. I didn't like the stripes though. cyclone5.jpg

I like the mix and matching. Though, I wouldn't object to new either.

Well, but there’s nothing on any of those guitars that they don’t still offer on the tradition version. So... left overs from what?

Either way, I like them all. I got no problems with any of them.

I would be all over that blue Les-Telly with WDR type pickups, or TV Jones filters..and possibly all over that Mustang-strato-guar design, esp. if they are USA, or mexico made.

Fender did this before , one of the guys from L&M bought the overstock parts from a previous perge, and had enough pieces to build about 100 guitars . I wish i would have known him then , I would have bought all his lefty stuff and a philips head screw driver!

They have been cross breeding various Fender guitars for years in the laboratory. They have finally let the public see the results. The ones they didn't show, you will never see. Hideous mutant guitars. Let's hope they never escape!

Looks like they are copying some of the build challenge guitars and some others built on TDPRI.

The guy in the vid really likes these guitars. meh

Only one that does something for me is the Gretschy Super Deluxe Cab.

They ought to bring back an 'off the shelf' Esquire - and maybe the Katana while they're at it.

They all look pretty cool to me, but then again, I'm one of those freaks that likes humbuckers on Teles'.

Exactly! And how about that limited run of knotty pine guitars they just put out? They're just copying the copiers at this point.

I hate the Meteora but I like most of these. It's really hard for Fender to do something new well. So what can they do instead? Work with their history. And if they do it in a classy way it works.

An esquire would be a great move. I couldn't afford one though.

How about a DIY Esquire? Dealer installs pickup of choice (co$t extra of course) when purchase is made?
