Yeah, well, stepdad to be specific apparently sowed a seed some time back. Ironically, right around the same time I was born.

And, for more irony, on behalf of my departed dad I've got a half sis I've never met who has the same name & age as my other half sister.

Seriously, did y'all not have "protection" back in the 80's?

    I might be related to a couple TDPRI'ers, that's all I'm sayin.....

Yeah I'm pretty darn sure I know what every girl I was "with" in the '80s did for at least nine months after the last time together.

There was a rumor that my Dad might have had a daughter with his second wife, who he supposedly married because she got pregnant.
He was drunk enough of the time to not notice the no kid detail though, and after he passed it seemed certain that there was no sibling since the lawyers couldn't find any.

Family secrets is a way of life.
Many families seem to even lie about stuff when the truth would hurt less.

I've been wondering a lot recently if I have any kids I don't know about. I've been with my wife for 21 years and have never once stepped out, nor would I. But before that? Yikes...

I wasn't exactly what you'd call prudish. I took full advantage of the rock and roll musician lifestyle, early and often, and all over the country.

I actually didn't think anything about it for forever, I always figured if anything happened, somebody would have found me by now.

Lately it really bothers me, though. What if they didn't? I mean, I wouldn't have a clue how to find or get in touch with any of those people. How would they find me? What if I do have another kid or two? What if they grew up totally crappy and I could have done something about it? What if they grew up crappy and blame me? What would their mom have told them about me?

I dunno. It's just something that's been bugging me. To the point that I actually asked my wife how she'd react if some guy or gal came to the door looking for me and said "hey there, I'm your kid".

She said as long as they were older than 21, she'd invite them in and get em something to eat. So at least there's that.
