I agree that Memorial Day is a special and solemn time.
I wonder some about that picture, though, that's been making the rounds.

When I was in the service I got harassed by local police on my free time. They didn't like us GIs. Don't know why. One time one of them thought I was drinking and driving and took me to the station. He couldn't get me to fail the breath test and made me walk back to my car.
Another time I was fishing from the bank on a weekend and a game warden drove his boat right to where I was fishing to check my license.
Got treated like a second class citizen by local residents a lot. Might've been cause Viet Nam was fresh on everyone's minds.
In addition to which, the sales are increasingly lame.
Crazy to think that our kids born in '92 are now killed in war. '92 seems so close.
I’m glad to see this thread cleaned up. I salute our vets and active duty heroes.
