    yeah... a 250k volume pot only lowers the pickup dcr reading by about 200 ohms. With a 500k volume pot, it only reads about 100 ohms lower than actual (for pickups around 6k).

    That's also been my experience. I've measured the resistance of the pickups with them both on and off of the guitars using a short pedal patch cable and there's very little difference between the values, falling exactly within that minus 100-200ohm ballpark for pickups in guitar + patch cable method.
