I got one yesterday and the neck is not huge. Maybe U but not Nocaster U. It’s a very playable neck.

Not the OP’s this one is mine.
This thing is as fine as they get and not a Nocaster U by which I was disappointed but it plays like a dream and fit and finish no flaws.

How does it feel on the lap when playing sitting down? Nice balance?

Mine will be arriving at my local Guitar Center around Sept 20 or so.

Having seven Teles that I love, already, I had decided not to add any more Teles to my mix. Until this special offset mahogany Tele came along. I'm going to let my Epi Casino go in favor of this little gem.

It's just too sweet (and unique) of a set-up for me to resist! Gorgeous mahogany body and bolt-on mahogany neck, rosewood board, contoured body in the back, P90 neck pickup... what a cool configuration!

And Made-In-Japan quality for $800 seals the deal for me. This will be the first offset guitar I've ever had.

You took the words right out of my mouth DHart. I don't need it, but the price, uniqueness and
expected quality made this one a no brainer for me. Mine should be here Sep 11.

It's here. Color is a bit more orangeish than I expected. Fit and finish seem top notch, neck feels great.
Not too big, not too small. My 3rd U shaped neck and I'm really starting to like them. Weighs in at 7 lbs.,
4.5 oz. Too soon to tell on the pickups, but so far I'm digging the bridge but the neck seems a bit woofy.
I played with the heights a little but haven't dialed them in yet. Bridge is 5.9k, neck 6.1 k.

Only thing better than a U shaped neck...is a bigger U shaped neck.

    Very nice! Looks beautiful! Congrats.

For me, the attraction is all about the body and the neck. I never buy a guitar based on how much I like the pickups, as those are so easily replaced. SO if the neck and body are great... I'm in.

As for the pickups and controls, I wouldn't hesitate to swap those out for something else, if desired. So I'm not too concerned with how they sound.

I would think that the neck pickup is a standard P90 size? There are a lot of other pickups (P90s and other designs) that sound great and can go into the P90 position! Same with the Tele bridge pickup.

Would you mind opening the control panel to see what the pots, the capacitor, and the switch are?

Thanks for that. Mine should be here Friday. My only possible deal breaker is if it’s close to or over 9lbs, which there are some out there. My back is young, I can deal :D

Bridge pickups seems a little weak for the P90, but glad to know the controls are quality components. I have a Nocaster and Cavalier 51/52 bridge pickup in my parts bin ready to go...

Thank you for the pics! Good to see quality components under the hood.

One last question... I've never sat with a Fender Offset guitar... how does this one balance on the legs when sitting down?

Fender is selling the pants off these!

My local shop got three and they are all sold before they even arrived.

I thought I was done with GAS. Fender knew better...

Ps. As for balance, I find the Jazz Masters and Jaguars to be very comfy. Very Strat like with the contours, but perhaps even more stable in terms of balance.

It was Leo's intention to upgrade the Stratocaster when he released the Jazz Master and Jaguar.

History has shown that the Strat endures, but the offset body was, and still is, a good idea.

I'm not surprised... they're cool as can be, MIJ quality, and priced RIGHT.

I’ve never played a Jazzmaster type guitar before, but they balance like a champ while sitting. So glad I got a lighter one. 6 k seems pretty low for a P90. I wonder if it’s a conventional P90 under that cover

Actually I was a little uninspired by the neck pickup. Maybe I’ll try some adjustments.
What amps are you using it for and styles?

I was disappointed by the smallish U. I would have sent it back but didn’t realize only 48 hour window of returns at Shop.
