I also just bought the HX Stomp, and I’m in the learning process. So far I’ve created a cleanish sound that works really well for me. I need to experiment a bit with real drive pedals in front of the Stomp as the HXS can only do 6 blocks. Once I get my core sounds dialed in I’ll try it out with the band in rehearsal.

Been looking online at FRFR wedges. The Alto seems less popular than it used to be. Now Headrush has their 12” and 8” models. The 8” seems attractive on paper, but I need to hear one.

The Headrush line are essentially rebadged Alto units. Minus a mic preamp and voiced slightly differently.

I am tempted to buy 2 or them myself.

I've seen people comment on them being the Altos too, but then I've seen others dispute it. Headrush claims that they are voiced specifically for guitar and bass, which frankly I don't really understand. FRFR should be FRFR - no voicing at all. But I guess that is theoretical???

I'm sure they have tweaked them SLIGHTLY. But it's essentially still an Alto TS308.
I'm probably going to look for a used Line 6 L2T honestly.

Hi Id like to join this, I've had an HXFX for while but decided to upgrade to the full floor model which is arriving today. Planning on using it for home practice into some studio monitors, for my 'loud' band (but still think I will use my DRRI for this and the Helix as a pedalboard). I'm also in an acoustic quartet so planning on going straight to FOH for this setting as well.

    I love my floor! Welcome!

I'm running 2 Mission expression pedals with mine. Mainly direct.
It will be killer for going into your DRRI.

I realised I was only getting a small percentage of the Helix going into the DRRI, as most of my favourite drives come from the 'amp' models with a bit of a drive. So after trying one in the store I have just bought a Powercab plus- will let you know how I get on...

I think so. Just try to edit the OP and see if it works.

Here’s my all-in-one Stomp board. I absolutely love this setup and have been making a lot of really good music with it.

Tuner and Freqout in front. Ventris and Nemesis in a loop block.

I go direct to FOH, so I get to show up with a gig bag and my board in a case. Love.

It's such an old thread, it can't be edited, not even the text.

I’ve been playing via a floor Helix since 2016, saw this thread and figured I should pile on. Just an amazing piece of gear. With Kemper, AXE FX, Helix, etc, the digital modeling realm is solidly in the pro game now.

And a big shout out to Line 6 too, they are so committed to this project and seem very loyal to the Helix users - more so than any piece of gear I’ve ever owned.

I finally started selling off my tube and analog stuff this year - I just don’t use it any more. I did keep my 1974 MusicMan amp - the Helix makes for a great pedal board to feed it.

    I just ordered a TS310 for FRFR.

Early on I bought some various Ownhammer Cab IRs - but find I prefer the Helix cabs much more. But I do use 3 Sigma IRs for my acoustic guitar presets.

I’ve tried various methodologies for building presets (all of them easy) but find I tend to utilize Jason Sadite’s process of construction.

Really looking fwd to 2.80 - coming soon!
