Hmmmm..... perhaps something in F. Or anywhere you want to move it.

    Code:
    --8p7p6---5-------------------------------------------
     -------9---6h8-x-8----8---8---------6-8-9-10---------
     -----------------7h8--7---5--5--5----------------------
     -----------------------------8--6h7---8-9-10---------
     -------------------------------------------------------
     -------------------------------------------------------
Toss a C7 on the end and you got a turnaround, bend the D up instead of hammering..... do what you like. Cheers

Here's a Marty Stuart/Clarence White/Ralph Mooney lick that can be used a LOT in Country/Rock stuff.

    Code:
    -10----------------------10-8-----------12-10--------------
    --------7-8-10-8-10b(12)------(12)r10-8-------10b(12)r10-8-
    ----7-9----------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of djangoisms, here's a django-esque lick I've been tooling with. Use two fingers, please.

    -------------------------------7-trem pick slide--15(vib)-----
    ----------------------------8--------------------------------
    -------------------------7-----------------------------------
    ---------------5-7-sl-9--------------------------------------
    ------------5------------------------------------------------
    --3-5-sl-7---------------------------------------------------

    Can't believe I haven't posted this yet

Remember the Fender site about 10 years ago? It used to have a section on it called "The Woodshed". Didn't have a huge amount of licks and lessons but it is where I got my all time favorite, go-to, use in any key, first country riff. It has taken on several mutations since but I still use it ALOT exactly how it was written. Let me know if you remember this one. Cheers

P.S. Start with your pinky please!! :)

    ----------------6---6--------------------------4-3-2---

Here's a turn aroundy kinda thing that can be used in any key. I chicken pick the double stop/bendy parts and treat the first four notes as a quadruplet but as always, do what you would like.... Cheers

    Code:
    --7p6p5---4------------------------------------------------------
    -------8-----5h7--x---7-----7---7-----------5---7-8s9-----7-------

Here's a jangly "falling down the stairs" lick in the key of A.

    ------------------------------------------------------
    --5--------2------------------------------------------
    --------5-----2---------------------------------------
    -----4-----------4--------2---------------------------
    --------------------3--4---------3--4--0-------------

Thanks Big Daddy. I'll bear it in mind next time! Seriously, I've learned some cool stuff off this thread. Just thought I'd give it a little bump to keep it going.:)

San Antonio Rose Lick as heard on Price Nelson CD

Western Swing type lick as heard on the Ray Price Willie Nelson San Antonio Rose Cut..

Guitarist is either Grady Martin or Jody Payne...I think

No way to put a wave file up?

    Ok...

I post this for discussion. Though NOT on telecaster...it is performed by the master tele player Brent Mason..

    It is a Jerry Reed intro....1 6 2 5 progression...

I have taken a stab at tabbing it....and, as I said..up for discussion

The intro to Georgia ... by Hoagy Carmichael

(disregard measures, etc..) This is a 'start'.....and invite input

rollie little open stringy filler kinda thingy.....

Can do this similarly in D but it works better in Doug Seven aghh I mean A.

    Code:
    ---------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------------------------------------
    --------------0-------------------0----------------
    ------7---------0--------7------------------------
    --------0-------------------0---------------------
    --8/9------9-------8/9---------9------------------
What the hell.. Here's same in D. Just have one less open string so you need to stretch a little and you can't have riff like this with out some double stops.

    Code:
    ---------------------------------------
    ---------------------------------------
    -------7------5-------7p0----5--------
    ---------0------0-----0------0--------
    --8/9------9------8/9------9----------
    ---------------------------------------

    i to iv change

I'm always looking for nifty little riffs like this. Probably because I always end up jamming out endless 12bar tunes with people. Enjoy.

This is really cool. Y'all please keep going. I don't have much to offer lick wise, but I sure enjoy going through these. While making a concerted effort to improve this part of my playing, I misread the chord #'s on Big Daddy's post and came up with a chord progression that I really want to write a song around.
