way too much depressing crap going on lately. So, I'll start.

The mandolin playing has been coming along well, I think. I'm having lots of fun with it.
The temps are supposed to get down to 70 after Wednesday.
This weekend my sons and I plan on helping my folks move to their new house. It's been awhile since everyone's gotten together.

    Whatcha got?

First gig as a sub is approaching soon. Nervous (a little) and excited about both.

My old ampeg should be back from the shop this week.

And best of all, been busy watching my little girl in gymnastics and she's really doing well at it.

Just started putting shellac/sealer on the neck for my LP Jr. I'm building.

Going to grandson's first high school concert Wednesday night.

Playing for the second time with our new drummer this Saturday.

My kids and wife are in good health.
Just made reservations for Joshua Tree camping in the spring.
After I pay off a few debts I have decided to get some form of Jazzmaster.
Thanks TDPRI for the good vibes.

Grandson plays trumpet. He tried out and got into the jazz band too.

Blowtorch, Joshua Tree is southeast of Los Angeles out in the desert. Kids love playing on the rocks. Insane amount of stars at night.

    Behind my beard.
I finish work for four days - in a little over four hours.

I'm applying for a more senior position (same company) tomorrow once I've slept.

'My' band's album is coming together very nicely.

Just sold one of my Les Pauls and have a pocketful of money to spend on something new. Taking my daughter to Disneyland on Monday for her birthday (a daddy daughter tradition).

my daughter got into playing oboe, she had no lessons, the teachers had no Idea how to play it , She won awards and scholorships for her playing then she auditioned for and was accepted into the symphony honor band and they opened for the UBC ( university of B.C,) Symphony Orchestra, can you say proud as hell!

Congrats to your grandson and his proud as hell grand parents ( I framed every program, poster and photo of her playing and display them all on the wall)

My 93 year old mother-in-law is showing a miraculous comeback from 36 hours straight of seizures. She is not out of the woods, but a relief to the family. My wife was with her last week in Minnesota and will be going back next week.

It is snowing right now, so the creek ought to be rising. That means amp time from my micro hydro electric plant soon and I can finally try out the various tubes that a pay-it-forward TDPRI member mailed to me for free. :) He sent me some nice ones to change out my cheap stockers.:):):):):)

We will get to see my step daughter and family Friday night and hope to see my 6 year old grandson show off his guitar licks that he has learned from his mom. :) Oh yeah, way too cool.

My DNA results came back and it looks like I was actually legit, showing the correct countries in Europe that my parents' parents came from.:)

Thanks for the thread blowtorch, I feel better already and I needed it.:)

Thanks @blowtorch and all, this is much needed. It has been a rough day.

Blowtorch, are you plugging in the mandolin? Mandolin + fuzz is a hoot! What are you seeing as your mandolin future?

I'm ready for a gig this Friday evening! A few good new tunes to play.
I've started working through "Writing Better Lyrics" by Pat Pattison and as of day 2, it feels great.
Band issues are smoothing over and the guys are on the same page and looking forward to the winter with some excitement.
