I just use a premium fender leather one. I do like those couch straps that use vintage automotive materials and furniture swaths.

Nothing fancy, but definitely represents the years of Drag Racing we did.

The strap I bought in 1981. No idea what brand.

I play seated. Never used a strap. Ever. I have a few that came as case candy with AV and CS guitars, but they're still in the case.

It started life as a simple padded leather strap, but I added the conchos, the strap locks and the mojo bag.

The conchos are made by some guy who has a machine that presses old high-silver-content US quarters (1960's) into that shape/design.

The mojo bag has several items that are important to me...locks of my wife's and daughter's hair, three British one-pound (£1) coins (a reference to a song my drummer and I wrote), a guitar string from Joe Ely's guitar, several picks given to me by various guys I admire (both famous and unknown), a $2 bill with Buddy Guy and Kim Wilson's autographs, my grandmother's obituary, a rattlesnake rattle, etc.

All of my guitars have Souldier straps. The first one I bought was at Lollapalooza '07 for my Telecaster. Been a fan ever since. I've bought more as gifts - I gave one to each of my groomsmen at my wedding.

Mines brand new for Xmas. A present I knew I was getting but I let them choose which one from the lineup.

Great quality, just a bit thick for the Schaller strap locks, they work but I'm on the look out for any strap locks with a longer thread to accommodate a thick strap.

Guitar strap 1.jpg Although the fittings are half-inched from an old strap the strap itself was woven by my big sis so it's a bit special to me.

My favourite straps are made by Red Monkey Designs out of LA. (No association).

The one I use most of my guitars is the Slasher. Simple 3/4" wide leather strap with a good buckle. Great quality strap.

They even made a strap to my specs (1 1/2", no buckle, three length variation). Just my perfect strap. Red Monkey now has my strap in their range. They call it the Jango - I hope it's selling well.

How dare you! Why the very nerve of some people!

    Oh, guitar straps? Never mind.

I like inexpensive Fender Tweed Straps for my Teles and Levy's 3" padded neoprene straps on my basses and heavier LP and ES355 because of their elasticity and give.
