There's a hare on this one:
Reminds me of a Harmony Sovereign 1266 I used to own...
Sadly I didn't take any photos of it before I leant it to a girl - I've never seen it since :0(
Had some tortie left from a build so:
I've only got one with tort - the Ghost Burst Tele.
Ahh, a TVL Jazzmaster.....
...but this one has a Spitfire
Yamaha FG750S. It stays on a stand in our great room for late night noodling. Tortus pickgaurd, binding and tuners (but I'm sure if tuners count).
Bob....my beloved Russian Tortoise who is named after my late father. Bob likes romaine lettuce and he'll outlive all of us. Freaks me out.
The Deluxe on the right has tort pick guard and matching tort binding!
here ya go
perty gits on this thread!
there was a great thread on making your own tortoiseshelly thingamabobs here somewhere, think it was a brainy thread
The new tort material that came for my Tele project is lighter than the tort pickguard on my Jazzlemacaster. I'd always felt that the Jazzlemacaster pickguard was too dark, especially since it was also lighter than the pickguard on my 5-string bass, which was the inspiration for the Jazzlemacaster's aesthetics. So yesterday I took the time to make a new pg for the JM, and I'm quite liking the result. It brightens it up and ties in better to the red on the arm contour, which was the whole idea behind the red on the arm contour to begin with.
More freshly cut tort for the Tele project:
Update....3-ply....ts/w/b...30 degree bevel...
Here's my '63 Jazzmaster. It was oversprayed with Sonic Blue a long time ago, but the original Olympic White (hence the tortoise guard) is showing through some of the wear.
Ibanez 1981 Blazer with tort guard, unfortunately not cut very well...
And a tele.
