I had this Texas Special years back, always like the look...
I was bored of the single pickguard so peeled the ****er off and cut myself matching doubles!

Awesome robt57....here is Mortimer, started life as a 1993 Korean Fender Squier....has been an ongoing, evolving project, but think it's now done. The only original Fender parts left are the body (stripped of paint and tung oiled) control plate and selector switch, and strap buttons.
My #1, 2000 MIM Telecaster w/ bone nut/ Tort pickguard.
This is a repurposed short scale Teisco that my son and I turned into an electric baritone ukulele (of sorts). We had to re-cut the headstock for only four strings. It ended up sounding pretty cool, and definitely gets people's attention. The gold foil pickups, tuners, and pickguard are not original.
You can never have too much tortoiseshell...
1960 Harmony Stratotone Jupiter
"You can never have too much tortoiseshell"---agreed.
I've seen two or three Sonic Blue Strats in this thread. Here's one I used to have...
Only tort I have. Purrrrty nice I think. This is actually someone else's pic but mine is identical other than having an aged metal cover for the P90. But tort and shell pink are niiiiice.
ok, I'm in.....
It's guitar dependent for me. On many guitars it looks good, others just awful.
Would you guys happen to know if this is the tortoiseshell thread?
Cool kat in Valencia - full tortie
See what you made me do? I gone and ordered more tort blank
More tort and Shell Pink!
