    ¡Bueno!

I've been reading about the evolution of electric guitar p'ups from steel guitars to present day. Really fascinating and seems like a cool hobby to experiment with.

Any resources for learning how to do this? I see some books on Amazon but none seems to go into the details....

This forum is a wealth of pickup winding info from some of the top winders in the business. There is also a beginners section which will answer many questions if you search the old threads...https://music-electronics-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11&s=85678c033b87439edfad28cca9acd4fb

Stewmac also has some good winding videos on their site as well as tools and materials to get you started. Tonecraft is another excellent sight which sells just about anything you will need. Also search Youtube for many good videos on how to build a winder and how to actually wind them. Many folks build their own machines out of very basic items like old sewing machines or electric drill motors. If you prefer something a little nicer, Stewmac and Mojotone both sell nice winding machines.

Rob@Cavalier is a virtual cornucopia of knowledge of winding pickups.

He's one of the best. Don't over extend your welcome, he's a busy man.

But, he's always willing to share his years of experience. Great guy to talk to.
