Wow...what a shock!
I won't be a hypocrite & talk about how I loved everything the guy did.
Honestly, I loved the J5 stuff & not much else that he's done.
But I don't believe anyone who knows what they're talking about could deny that he was one of the most talented people of his generation.
And true talent will always be missed when it's left us.
He was a year younger than me. And he accomplished more by the age of 12 than I have today.
He also managed to get more F'd in the head by the age of 30 than I am now.
There haven't been many celebrities who's personal reputation and behind the scene antics I disliked as much as his.
But it's not up to me to judge him.
He's probably being judged as I write this by the only one who knows the truth & will get what he deserves either way.
And if it should turn out that he was innocent of the things he's been accused of, perhaps he will be reunited with his long lost nose in Rock & Roll Heaven.
I've been sitting here thinking what to say about his passing. A tortured soul? It would seem so. Someone who got away with a serious crime because of his money and stature? I'll leave the final decision for the Big Guy in the Sky (and I don't mean Elvis). A noteworthy artist? Say what you will about him he was the musical force to be reckoned with in the 80's.

A very sad day for music .
One day people will ask what where you doing when you found out Michael Jackson had died , and everyone will remember .
The guy was that important to the music world .
[mod edit for no class comment]
Like many I am not quite sure what to feel about..... It is sad that he died because there was so much talent and there were so many things that we know he went through and that he must have went through that we don't know of.
Thanks for the thoughtful moderating in this thread .
Stay cool guys .
Bed beckons .
R.I.P. Micky J.
The mods on this forum do a great job. You are appreciated.
At age 11 he sang Motown R&B like a grown man with a boy's voice....that was amazing...
Thanks getbent! The moderating is superfast on this forum!
He just went home!!!!
Nah, Elvis yes, Lennon yes. Maybe Bob when he goes. Maybe Mick when he goes.. but Wacko?
Sorry he's passed away, especially for his kids sake (I didn't know he has kids..)
Like his music or hate it. The guy was a musical force of nature.
A huge talent that, sadly wanted to be something he wasn't. There is no more tragic epitaph than that.
Haha. That's a good one.
Brilliantly written Beef!! It managed to be touching, truthful and hilarious all rolled in to one!
Thanks Getbent..and other mods, for taking out the trash. One of the reasons this is the best place to hang out on the www!!
The helicopter carrying his body to the hospital where he will be autopsied just flew right over my building.. kinda weird.
I was never much of a fan but it seemed that he lived a tortured life and that's a shame.
